My longtime friend Paul responded to the Gospel of Thomas Logion and here is what he has to say:
We are all searching for peace/rest, both in the world and within ourselves.
We think that financial security, possessions, or other people will bring us peace/rest, but they won’t because there is no end to our desires and our passions.
We are confused and troubled when we find the key to peace/rest, because it will not look like what we expected it to.
To get past our confusion, we have to let go of our desires, attachments, and pre-conceived notions of what we think will bring us peace/rest.
When we let go of, and reign over, our desires, attachments, and our selfishness, our sovereignty will bring us peace/rest.
Peace/rest comes from letting go, being still, and practicing mindfulness.
Excellent Paul. Thank you!
